Inspired by their favourite artists and the best of classic films.
Get ready to immerse yourself in all things music at the city’s favourite restaurant and vinyl bar! The legends at Rekōdo are hosting a series of free listening sessions celebrating the power of sound until the end of the year. From iconic album anniversaries to legendary film soundtracks and beloved artists on tour, these sessions offer a unique opportunity to rediscover music and the joy of enjoying tunes together.
The series kicks off with a tribute to the Purple One himself, Prince, as his groundbreaking album “Purple Rain” turns 40 this year. Next is Steve Wonder’s timeless classics. Prepare to be transported back in time and groove to the infectious energy of Tones & I, and relive the golden age of the Beatles. For those who appreciate the power of music in film, Rekōdo will also be showcasing the iconic soundtrack of “Pulp Fiction,” a cinematic masterpiece that redefined the genre. And for a dose of nostalgia, the iconic British boy band, Take That, will be featured, bringing you back to memory lane through their chart-topping hits.
At Rekōdo, the food is just as important as the music. The restaurant serves modern Japanese cuisine, with a delicious share-plate style menu and Japanese cocktails. Grab a seat at the bar and snack on nori tacos, rich wagyu tataki, or the spicy kick of bang bang chicken bites. For a more immersive dining experience, settle in for an omakase menu curated by the chef, with dishes like crispy soft shell crab bao, king prawn skewers, and the miso-marinated blue-eyed cod with ginger and spring onion.
