Surfpark dining has never tasted better.
Get ready to ride the wave of excitement! The team at Applejack Hospitality have been working hard behind the scenes for the last year and is thrilled to announce the official opening date for their highly anticipated restaurant, RAFI URBNSURF, located within the URBNSURF Sydney surf park. Opening July 25th, RAFI URBNSURF promises a dining experience unlike any other.
Located on the upper level of URBNSURF Sydney, RAFI URBNSURF offers a breathtaking viewpoint without needing to enter the surf park, so you can soak in panoramic views of the action park from the comfort of your table. The restaurant’s ambience and offering draws inspiration from its main HQ, RAFI North Sydney, whilst introducing a surf-inspired twist to its menu. Inside, RAFI URBNSURF echoes the spirit of its North Sydney counterpart with a sophisticated air. Mosaic-tiled table surfaces and floors interweave with woven rush dining chairs, whilst printed fabrics complement the olive, cedar, and nutmeg tones.
The menu at RAFI URBNSURF focuses on responsibly sourced seafood, vegetables, and grass-fed meats. Expect crowd favourites from North Sydney to make an appearance, like their signature South Coast tuna with tomato, tahini & fragrant chilli oil, and RAFI’s Raw Platter for two, with East33 Sydney rock oysters, yellowfin tuna, kingfish and Trevally sourced from New Zealand. For shared plates, enjoy roasted Jerusalem Artichokes served with toasted hazelnut, burnt butter & Grana Padano cream or Crispy Eggplant with spices, honey & herbs. For mains, their Steamed Barramundi is poised to be a standout, drizzled with a chickpea miso & yuzu kosho sauce.
For drinks, the cocktail menu has been curated by Bar Manager Cameron Freno. Sup on the Sub-Zero Oyster Martini or indulge in the Sub-Zero burnt butter and pecan Old Fashioned, a sophisticated twist on a classic. RAFI North Sydney’s beloved Fragola Fizz is also on the menu with a vibrant revamp, incorporating fragrant strawberry leaves from participating venues, whilst the Mai Tai receives a playful makeover, featuring SONOMA croissants from the downstairs casual eatery, Sandy’s.
“At RAFI, we focus on serving the best seasonal and local ingredients. Our menus feature fresh produce from small Sydney farms, as well as top-quality seafood, beef, and cheese from across Australia,” says Executive Chef at RAFI, Matias Cillóni. “Each dish highlights the essence of the season and the stories of our producers. This commitment to quality and local sourcing will continue at RAFI URBNSURF.”
