Sydney’s entertainment scene has a new heartbeat. Rising from the shell of the once-iconic Star Bar, the Plaza Hotel reclaims its past while rewriting the future of nightlife, music, and dining in the CBD.

Under the vision of the Winchester Hotel Group, led by Sarah and Ryan Maloney, this multi-level venue reimagines the 1929 Plaza Theatre into a space where heritage and innovation collide.

Step inside and choose your own adventure. Plaza Basement is a world of dimly lit decadence, where vinyl spins and agave-fueled cocktails set the tone for late-night revelry. Ascend to Plaza Level One, an electric playground where cutting-edge sound and lighting meet a pulsating dance floor primed for international DJs. Meanwhile, the Plaza Theatre, with its carefully preserved 1930s ceiling, offers a cinematic escape, hosting everything from intimate screenings to immersive live performances.

Beyond the beats, Plaza Bistro redefines city dining. With Executive Chef Sam Bull at the helm, the menu is a study in contrasts—elevated yet unpretentious, indulgent yet familiar. From caviar service to a cheeseburger executed with precision, every dish is crafted to impress. The outdoor dining space adds a touch of European elegance, inviting guests to linger over long lunches or early evening aperitifs.

The Plaza Hotel also sets the stage for various DJ sets with various upcoming events including: NOWUKNOW on Saturday, 15th February, a fusion of hip-hop and techno in the depths of Plaza Basement. Then, on Friday, 21st March Mas Flow’s Australian Tour is bringing the heat straight to Plaza Level One for a night of reggaeton, dembow, and nonstop energy.
