No drink epitomises the English summer quite like a Pimm’s Cup – fresh strawberries, cool cucumber, zesty oranges, mint, lemonade, ginger ale and Pimm’s No. 1 served with ice and a swizzle stick. Combine the best of English summer with Australia’s most iconic beach and you have everything you need for a fabulous start to the summer.
The morning started off drizzly but the skies cleared to help Pimm’s celebrate the first day of summer at the The Bucket List. The ‘fish bowl’ looked just like an English garden party, decorated with Chelsea Flower Show worthy blooms complete with oranges, strawberries and mint. Pure Pops created a Pimm’s popsicle especially for the event to add a refreshing Aussie twist to the English tipple. The new strawberry shaped swizzle sticks have a fork on the end, genius! No more sticking your fingers into the glass to get that last piece of strawberry.
To accompany the fruity beverage, the Bucketlist put on a high tea-esque spread of crustless chicken and salmon sandwiches, hot-smoked salmon blini, prawn salad, quiche and an Aussie and English summer favourite – fish and chips (with LOTS of chicken salt).
A Pimm’s pop is a good way to enjoy this beverage but drinking with friends is better that’s why they created jugs to share. Pimm’s is the perfect beverage for brunch, high-tea, a sunny lunch, after work, outdoor dining, weddings, Sunday sessions… well you get the idea. It’s my hair-of-the-dog and probably the healthiest boozy drink out there. All that fruit and vege, it’s practically clean-drinking, right?
Pimm’s pops aren’t available for sale at the moment, but we’re really hoping Pure Pops will change all that soon! In the meantime I’m out to buy a popsicle mould.
Anyone for Pimm’s? Yes please!
