Sicilian-born, award-winning chef Lino Sauro opened Olio Kensington Street in early 2017 and has been wowing Sydney foodies ever since. Located in the beautifully restored The Old Rum Store with a contemporary indoor dining room plus lush rooftop terrace overlooking Chippendale Olio is the perfect place to enjoy Melbourne Cup this year.
Lino and his team have put together a 7 course menu starting with his delicious deep fried saffron “Arancini” rice ball followed by chargrilled calamari salad with, tomato, fennel and lemon vinaigrette.
Mains will include rigatoni pasta with tomato sauce, eggplant and aged ricotta cheese and Humpty Doo barramundi with silver beets, salmoriglio and Evoo mayonnaise. His 48 hr saltbush lamb neck with pumpkin puree and plum gel roasted rosemary potatoes and seasonal mixed salad will also be brought to your table to devour.
Save room for not one but two desserts, a classic Italian tiramisu and Chef Lino’s Signature semifreddo with nougat parfait with toasted ‘Noto’ almond Sauce.
