Say Nup to the Cup with a vegan Yum-Cha feast in the heart of the CBD

Sydney / 18 October 2019

Join Bodhi’s annual Nup the Cup celebrations complete with a massive vegan Yum-Cha spread.

Nestled under ancient Moreton Bay fig trees, you’ll find a true hidden gem. Since opening its doors in 1988, Bodhi has been serving up pioneering Pan-Asian and Yum-Cha cuisine to Sydneysiders. The best bit? It’s all vegan and jam-packed with fresh seasonal produce. And this year, the venue is bringing back one of its most popular events.

After its sell-out inaugural event in 2018, Bodhi’s Nup the Cup returns on Tuesday, November 5th. For those looking for an alternative to your typical Melbourne Cup celebrations, this event will be right up your alley. Across one jam-packed afternoon, punters will be able to enjoy a lavish vegan feast, bubbles plus an exclusive pop-up market of stalls. To top it all off, $15 from every ticket told will go directly towards Horse Rescue Australia, a local initiative working to re-home ex-racehorses.

Experience Bodhi’s signature vegan Yum-Cha menu, packed with plant-based variations of all your favourite classics. Expect everything from sweet Japanese pumpkin dumplings to steamed BBQ bread buns and even their take on pan-fried ‘duck’ dumplings. Pick and choose your way through the menu and wash it all down with a complimentary glass of Harvest ‘Blanc de Blanc’. To keep spirits high all afternoon, sip your way through Bodhi’s extensive menu of local Australian wines, most of which are organic, bio-dynamic and sustainably farmed.

Once you’ve finished feasting, make sure to nab yourself a bespoke flower crown from their pop-up market stalls, showcasing some of Bodhi’s favourite vegan brands including Jipa jewellery and The Chai Room. Make sure to come in your best threads, with the venue set to award the ‘Best Dressed’ on the day with a prize pack complete with a bunch of vegan-friendly products including Loving Earth Chocolate, Leif Body Care, Kester Black nail polish and more. Plus, they’ll be raffle prizes galore from brands such as Samantha Sona Ethical Beauty, Base Alchemy, Lucerna Candles and more.

Bodhi’s Nup the Cup will be kicking off on Tuesday, November 5th from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at 2/4 College Street, Sydney. Tickets are $70 per person and include a complimentary drink, vegan Yum-Cha set menu. Bookings are essential. To secure your spot, click here.
