After 11 years, Neighbourhood Bondi will be pouring its final drinks and saying goodbye to Bondi Beach
Neighbourhood Bondi, known for its 80’s anthems, party-shirts and flaming cocktails has been a second home for many ex-pats in Sydney. This beloved Bondi joint is closing its doors for good on the 22nd of September and will no doubt leave a void in the community. As the city grapples with rising rents, escalating living costs, and the allure of new establishments, the frequency of venue closures seems to be on the rise, but do not fret! The team behind this iconic bar is set to open two new venues in the coming months.
The team behind Neighbourhood, Ben and Brendan, who took over in 2019, brought their English roots and Northern charm to Bondi Beach. Bringing good vibes, a proper Sunday roast that includes roast beef, a homemade Yorkshire pudding, roasted veggies, pigs in blankets plenty of gravy (sensational) and all the other classic trimmings. They plan to make it a memorable exit, ensuring everyone enjoys the last hurrah. In addition to the usual antics, celebrations will ramp up every Friday in September, with friends from Fireball, Herradura, and Diplomatico taking over the bar. Fireball is kicking off the first takeover on Friday 6th September.
While it’s the end of an era, it marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter as the Mancunian pair plans to open two new venues in Bondi next year. The three-week countdown is on, so you still have time to get down and enjoy an old-school bottomless brunch or a final English roast. Get down and cheers to one last round before their last day on 22nd September.
Hours: Wednesday to Friday 5-11pm, Saturday 12-11pm and Sunday 12-10pm.
