If you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure that combines breathtaking coastal scenery, outdoor activity and a chance to reconnect with nature, the Murramarang South Coast Walk might just be your thing! The Murramarang National Park is now open for camping package bookings, with a 34km adventure along the beautiful NSW South Coast. Setting off in April, this incredible journey takes you through some of the most stunning views in Australia, from pristine beaches to rugged cliffs and forestland.
Starting at Pretty Beach (just south of Ulladulla), the 3-day coastal walk will weave along past Depot Beach and Durras Beach, finishing at Maloneys Beach near Batemans Bay. You’ll walk through towering forests, along sandy beaches, and past dramatic coastal cliffs, including spotted-gum forests that only grow down to the ocean.
Love animals? There will be plenty of opportunities to spot abundant wildlife along the way. Observe iconic eastern grey kangaroos as they lounge by the beaches, rare native birds and humpback whales in the ocean during migration season. Yet another reason why this should be at the top of your hiking bucket list.
Murramarang’s South Coast Walk is suitable for hikers of all skill levels, and walkers can book their own self-guided tour which includes camping at Pretty, Depot and Oaky beaches, plus a vehicle transfer and welcome tour for weekend bookings. Alternatively, if you don’t want to camp, you can opt for accommodation spots along the walk available in nearby towns of Batemans Bay and Durras.
