Roses are all well and good on Valentine’s Day, but a gelato rose? We’re in. Here to win over your lovers heart and stomach this V Day are the artisan gelato lords Messina, who have now launched a new edible rose gelato cone.

Cheekily called ‘Feeling Thorny’, this latest creation is designed for the sweet tooth in your life.

So what can you expect?

It all starts with a white chocolate lined waffle cone, filled with dulce de leche and earl grey gelato, strawberry compote and more dulce de leche.

Next comes the main event – the actual gelato. Messina know the way to our hearts, using their signature salted caramel gelato to create the striking Chantilly rose. The final crème de la crème is ‘base’ – comprised of a chocolate hazelnut praline mousse and chocolate brownie ‘pot’. Cue drool.

Designed for sharing between two, you also get in on the delicious gelato action, a double win. This gelato rose will set you back though, coming in at $40 (yes, for the one cone).

The good news is that you can order online or pick up from Messina stores nationwide between Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14h February. In Sydney, Rosebery, Darlinghurst, the Tramsheds, Bondi, Parramatta, Miranda and Penrith stores are getting in on the action.
