New Portuguese-inspired café Manteiga in Darlinghurst has arrived.
Manteiga has officially opened its doors, bringing a modern Australian café with Portuguese soul from chef-owner Justin Martins, whose background includes Bentley, Dinner by Heston and Kepos Kitchen. It’s warm, relaxed and built on serious culinary know-how, and to celebrate the launch.
The star of the menu is the Manteiga Muffin, a stone-cooked Portuguese muffin made from a guarded family recipe and stacked with double-smoked bacon or a beef sausage patty. You’ll also spot touches of Martins’ upbringing in dishes like zhoug chilli eggs and fluffy ricotta pancakes, but the real charm of Manteiga Darlinghurst is its laid-back, local feel, the kind of café built for slow mornings and easy lunches.
