A Little Bit of Italy in Broke – here’s what you can expect at this Italian-inspired food and wine festival.

Back for another delicious year is the highly anticipated celebration that is A Little Bit of Italy in Broke Food and Wine Festival. Once again, Broke wine region in the Hunter Valley gets set to transform into an Italian food lovers paradise, the weekend-long event giving punters the chance to taste and drink their way through the Mediterranean.

Running on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th April and spanning across 12 venues, the festival will bring with it fresh and authentic cuisine, local produce, cooking classes, workshops, demonstrations, vineyard tours and the region’s renowned local wines.

Now in its 15th year, attendees can expect a showcase of the region’s diverse wine offerings with its local produce. The weekend will kick off with the famed Margan Welcome Dinner on Friday 12th April, giving you the chance to enjoy a three-course Italian menu under the stars.

Visitors will get the chance to sample an array of offerings, including an gourmet Italian barbecue, cheese and olives at Ascella Organic Wines; Italian picnic share hampers from Greenway wines; woodfired pizza and gelato in the Tuscan-inspired courtyard at Krinklewood; and antipasto platters at Winmark Wines.

There will also be a variety of cooking classes and demonstrations available, including gnocchi-making classes, Italian cooking demonstrations, Zafferano wine masterclasses, the Margan harvest and cooking school plus more.

Once again, a Little Bit of Italy in Broke has partnered with the Singleton Cancer Appeal and glass sponsor Zafferano, in order to allow $2 from every Zafferano glass sold to be donated to the appeal.

Transfer buses will run on Saturday and will pick visitors up from Cessnock, Rothbury, Lovedale and Pokolbin areas, with shuttle buses running between festival venues over the course of the weekend. Be sure to book these in advance.

General admission tickets to the festival start from just $16.91, and includes entry plus a souvenir wine glass.
