This first ever Hills Heist event is being held at the freshly opened Winebar One on 119 Kippax St, Surry Hills. For $65 per person you can enjoy three hours of dynamic wine, food and beats between 6pm-9pm on Tuesday 8th May.
Whether it’s Shiraz, Pinot or sparkling that tickles your tastes buds, with 70 wines on offer from 25 plus Adelaide Hills wineries, there is something to please everyone. Experience the best of Adelaide Hills, currently claimed as Australia’s hottest wine region, without even leaving the city.
On the night, expect big names in wine such as Murdoch Hill’s Michael Downer. In 2017 Downer was crowned the nations best emerging talent for the 2017 Young Gun of Wine awards. You can also expect Adelaide hill’s icon Andrew Hardy, travelling all the way from Petaluma’s very own vineyards.
And what better to accompany a great drop of wine, than with great tunes and food. Taste your way through a selection of European inspired nibbles on offer. Sydney local DJ Levins will also be taking over the decks for the night.
Adelaide Hills is situated 45 minutes outside of Adelaide city and is home to just about every winemaking approach and philosophy. Host, wine writer and SA local Nick Ryan explains that “Adelaide Hills is a 70 kilometre stretch… where old school and new school sit comfortably side by side”. Summing up what makes this region so unique.
The Hills Heist event hopes to do justice in reflecting the unique diversity of the region. Penfolds, Henschke, Shaw + Smith, The Pawn Wine Co, Nepenthe and Hanhdorf Hills are just a few of the wineries attending. The speciality wines that you should definitely try on the night include the sparkling wine, Mediterranean varieties and the innovative new shiraz.
