King Street Wharf recently lost a waterfront favourite with Beer Deluxe Sydney closing its doors after a seven-year standing. But in its place, an all-new, all-day drinking and dining destination with Darling Harbour views will emerge promising a lively yet laid-back watering hole for city revellers.
Architect firm People of Design has transformed the venue, splashing new life, colour and brightness to the waterfront abode, enlisting the creative talents of local Sydney artist, Blends. His colourful works, known for defining the clash of urban environment and the natural world, adorn the multistorey walls depicting aerial drawings of the Sydney Opera House in deep purples, rich aquas and golden hues. The rehaul has opened up the venue to maximise the space making the most of the breathtaking city views.
The wine and cocktail list is approachable and familiar shaking up classics with fruitful flair. Signature twists include; the Broadwalk Cooler – Vodka, moscato, lemon, watermelon; Flight Facility – Aperol, 400 Conejos, Joven Mezcal, lemon, agave; and Hemingway’s Wrath – Young Henrys Noble Cut Gin, Luxardo, lemon myrtle, lemon, mint.
No all-day sesh is complete without a snack menu for all-day grazing, devour a whole host of delectable bar snack staples like; baked button mushrooms, baby philly cheesesteak, popcorn chicken, and grilled corn ribs. And when you’re ready for a more substantial feed, check out the mains menu of decadent burgers, stone cooked pizzas, and healthful salads.
Henley’s roster of weekly specials for opening week includes:
- Monday 11 July – Wednesday 13 July: 50 free salad bowls & cheeseburgers given away daily for lunch (must be claimed via website)
- Thursday 14 July – Friday 15 July (12pm – 2pm): Free spritz or beer with lunch
- Thursday 14 July (From 5pm) – Public launch party, with a complimentary drink on arrival and roving snacks
Henley’s is now open 7 days a week, head in after 12pm for casual one, two or three by the water.
