Golden Century, the beloved Sydney institution known for stand-out Cantonese cuisine, is re-opening its doors after a three-year hiatus.
Sydney’s culinary scene is about to get a whole lot brighter. Golden Century, the legendary Cantonese restaurant, is set to reopen its doors at Crown Sydney on Monday, January 20th, 2025, with reservations now open. This highly anticipated return marks a significant milestone for the iconic eatery, bringing back the cherished menu and the spirit of the original Sussex St. location, much to the delight of Sydney diners.
“We are thrilled to be opening Golden Century at Crown Sydney, especially during the auspicious time of Lunar New Year,” says co-owner Billy Wong. “Hospitality is at the heart of everything we do, and we can’t wait to welcome back our loyal patrons and introduce a new generation of diners to the magic of Golden Century.”
Drawing inspiration from the original, the new location will feature live seafood tanks and a menu showcasing Golden Century’s signature dishes. Guests can expect to savour exquisite Cantonese cuisine, including succulent seafood dishes like XO pippies, live lobster prepared in two styles, and abalone steamboat, alongside other beloved classics such as Peking duck, salt and pepper squid, and an extensive yum cha selection.
To celebrate the Lunar New Year, Golden Century will offer special dishes, including poon choi, loi hei, and other traditional festive treats.
