Step Into Sydney’s First Whisky Library

Glengoyne Whisky and Berkelouw Bookstore are doing a pop-up with a difference: a whisky library!

Amid Sydney’s holiday hustle, Glengoyne Whisky and Berkelouw Bookstore have joined forces to deliver something rare: a moment to slow down. From December 5–7, the pop-up will invite Sydneysiders to slow down, sip on Glengoyne’s renowned 12-year-old single malt scotch, and lose themselves in a good book.

At its heart, the Whisky Library celebrates Glengoyne’s philosophy: “The right way is the long way.” Known for their meticulously crafted single malts, Glengoyne embodies the art of patience. Their 12-Year-Old Scotch is a testament to this ethos, created with air-dried barley and matured in casks that take six years to prepare. This is a whisky that rewards those who take the time to appreciate it.

The pop-up offers visitors a chance to sip on Glengoyne’s signature 12-year-old Single Malt in the cozy, book-filled surroundings of Berkelouw. It’s a simple but inspired pairing—rich, slow-crafted whisky and a good book—a reminder to pause and enjoy the present moment.

“This partnership is about encouraging Sydneysiders to take a breath during the busiest time of year,” says Gordon Dundas, Glengoyne’s International Brand Ambassador. “Our whisky is crafted with time and care, and this experience invites people to embrace that same spirit of patience.”

For Berkelouw, the Whisky Library aligns perfectly with their love of slowing down and savouring stories. “At a time when everything feels rushed, this collaboration offers something truly special,” says Assistant Store Manager Josh Hortinela.

Escape the busy streets and embrace the “Joy of Slow” at Sydney’s Whisky Library, December 5–7, at Berkelouw Bookstore, Paddington. A rare chance to savour the season—one sip and one page at a time.
