We celebrated Gelatissimo’s two-decade milestone with endless gelato tastings, free-flowing canapes and drinks & live acoustic music at the Watsons Bay store.
When it comes to sweet treats, it doesn’t get much better than Gelato. Gelatissimo has been scooping some of our favourite flavours since they opened on King Street, Sydney back in 2002. With 42 stories across the country, the brand is renowned for mixing authentic Italian-style gelato, made fresh in stores each day with a variety of popular classics and indulgent new flavours to choose from.
This month, Gelatissimo invited us to celebrate their 20th birthday from the Watsons Bay store which has been given new life with a complete brand refresh. Over four fun-filled hours, we chatted with leading Sydney influencers and media, met the faces behind the brand, had free-flowing canapes and beverages, enjoyed endless gelato tastings, listened to live acoustic music, watched a competitive eater devour a 5.5-litre tub of gelato and tasted a fabulous cake.
The new look at the Watsons Bay store is a hint at what’s to come from the brand. With fabulous new interior touches, bold branding and a brighter colour palate to be rolled across 50+ stores throughout the next year, it’s clear Gelatissimo is upping its game for the next 20 years of service.
Amidst an exciting month of birthday festivities, Gelatissimo has released two new flavours including Caramel Gold made with KitKat® and Gelatissimo’s Chocolate Birthday Cake. Caramel Gold is a celebration of the delicious KitKat Gold with a creamy, caramelised white chocolate gelato, rippled with a thick and gooey caramel sauce and topped with chunks of KitKat Gold. For serious chocolate lovers, we wouldn’t look past Gelatissimo’s Chocolate Birthday Cake…
“This gelato is all about chocolate obsession,” says Filiz Kaya, Gelatissimo’s Head of Product Innovation. “The smooth chocolate gelato is layered with a creamy, glossy chocolate ripple and soft, rich cake pieces, which is then all topped with choc chips and melt-in-the-mouth chocolate flakes for a gelato which is as big on texture as it is on taste.”
