Back by popular demand, this open-air series is serving smooth sounds, cocktails, and community – every Thursday night.
Jazz is back in The Rocks – and it’s staying a while. The much-loved Jazz Sessions series has returned for an extended season, running every Thursday night from through to September.
Set beneath twinkling lights in The Rocks Square, each evening features some of Australia’s most exciting jazz talent, curated by SIMA (Sydney Improvised Music Association). Expect everything from smooth standards to genre-bending sets that push the edges of contemporary jazz.
It’s free to attend, and you can grab a seat from 6pm before the music kicks off at 6.30pm. There are two live sets each night, with a break in between to refill your glass – cocktails by Hickson House are on hand to help set the mood.
This isn’t a sit-down-and-be-quiet affair. It’s casual, social, and open to all – perfect for after-work hangs, midweek catch-ups, or solo nights soaking up the scene.
And don’t worry about the weather. If it rains, the show simply moves indoors to 6–8 Atherden Street – just a minute away. Find out more here.
