The bar has been set for the summer festival circuit and Festival X is taking gold with headliners including Calvin Harris and Megan Thee Stallion.
Following an epic debut pre-pandemic, Festival X will finally return to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth to kick off summer 2022. Officially kicking off the Australian summer festival calendar for 2022, Festival X is celebrating in a big way, and setting an outrageously talented precedent for the festivals to follow.
Formed as a collaboration between industry leaders and teams behind some of Australia’s biggest festivals, concerts and events, Hardware (PURE, Babylon, Two Tribes, Stereosonic), Onelove (Stereosonic) and Live Nation (Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival and Download) you know we’re in for something very special. Global Hip Hop and Electronic Dance music icons will take to the hand-crafted stages to bring the party atmosphere and showcase the hottest in new and internationally established talent, epic event production and most importantly a whole heap of FUN!
Festival favourite and celebrated party-vibe-setter, Calvin Harris features in his second appearance; hot off the heels of his fifth studio album announcement out later this year, with a stockpile of hits (we’re hedging bets ‘Summer’ is top of the setlist) and a brand-new show.
For the first time, Australia will welcome multiple Grammy award winner and female Hip Hop superstar, Megan Thee Stallion for an OG ‘hot girl summer’ down under. Chicago-based, Trap-N-B star Don Toliver is also headed to our shores for the first time, following multiple successful releases through Travis Scott’s iconic Cactus Jack records.
Australia’s very own heavyweights will fly the flag high amidst the internationals, with multi-platinum record holder Luude bringing his eclectic performance to each city, featuring his 200M+ collective hit, Down Under ft. Colin Hay.
Sydney’s Anna Lunoe is taking time out from her radio show job at Apple Music to bring her boundary-breaking curation to the stage alongside Australia tech-princess Laura King and party boy Tyson Obrien. Queensland’s progressive rising star Taglo, signed to Armada and Anjunadeep, joins Sydney bad-boys Sunset Bros.
