Ette Restaurant Brings Fast Fine Dining and $9.50 Snack Plates to the CBD

Eat / 24 June 2025

Welcome to Ette Sydney, where snack-sized fine dining hides in plain sight, just off Bridge Street.

Ette is the CBD’s newest culinary hideaway- a place where $9.50 small plates land on your table in minutes, house-made focaccia comes on the house, and mains never cost more than $39.

Ette (meaning “small”) is the latest project from hospitality veteran Michael Broome, and it’s here to prove that fast, fine dining doesn’t need to be fussy. Head Chef Adam Grimsley (ex-Le Manoir, Icebergs, and Jacksons on George) brings big credentials to the open kitchen, where he’s turning out flavour-packed dishes that pair elegance with speed.

Think: sashimi mosaics, charred lamb ribs, baked scallops with nduja and pineapple, and tuna tartare served in a seaweed cone- all under the “SnackEtte” banner, and all on your table in under five minutes. For something bigger, the $39 mains (“Steak, Land, Sea and Grain”) rotate daily, showcasing the best produce of the day. Current dishes include coq au vin with shimeji mushrooms, fish of the day with yuzu beurre blanc, and a wild mushroom linguine laced with black truffle and marsala.

The drinks list holds its own too, courtesy of Bar Manager Claudio Matricini. Signature cocktails include the Sgroppino Affair (vodka and seasonal sorbet) and the Garden Spritz (Gin, elderflower, Prosecco, lime, and mint).

What to Eat: Funghi linguine, with wild mushroom, black truffle, marsala and pecorino and Coq au Vin, pancetta, silver skin onions and shimeji mushroom.

What to Drink: The Sgroppino Affair – Ketel One Vodka, seasonal sorbet or the Passion Lover- Vanilla-
infused vodka, passionfruit, fresh lemon, thyme, whites.

When to Go: Ideal for a quick weekday bite, after-work drinks that turn into dinner, or a casual Friday date that doesn’t feel too try-hard.

Cost: SnackEttes from $9.50, mains from $39, cocktails ~$20.

Vibe Check: Hidden laneway spot with Euro flair, fast service, warm lighting, and zero pretension.

Book It: Here, walk-ins welcome for solo snackers and duos.
