Earl's Juke Joint Gets A Singaporean Makeover

Bars, Drink, Events, Sydney / 22 July 2015

To celebrate Singapore’s 50th Birthday, Earl’s Juke Joint will be partnering with one of Singapore’s famous bars to bring Newtown a range of Singaporean Cocktails.
Earl’s Juke Joint will be taken over by the culture and cocktails of Singapore, thanks to a collaboration with 23 HongKong Street in Singapore.
Earl’s Juke Joint will create a Singaporean themed menu, that will replace the regular menu this August. Front and centre of the new menu will be a reinvented ‘Singapore Sling’, a well known cocktail that features gin and cherry brandy.
Earl’s version of the Singapore Sling, the ‘Long Tong Boon Lah’, pays homage to the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel where Ngiam Tong Boon invented the drink in 1915 and the Slinglish word ‘Lah’.
The owner of Earl’s Juke Joint, Pasan Wijesena, recently travelled to Singapore with his team to find inspiration for the makeover. Amongst the unique and vibrant culture of Singapore they found a list of Singaporean Cocktails that could be specially crafted for Sydneysiders.
The bar take over will happen from the 1st to 31st of August.
