Pyrmont’s food scene has a new star: Dan Dan, the hot new Asian-inspired diner has just landed on Harris Street!
Pyrmont just got a whole lot hotter with the launch of Dan Dan, a brand-new, 170-seater, Asian-inspired bar and restaurant. This sizzling new venue is the brainchild of Bobby Volcevski and Andrew Duncan, the dynamic duo behind Sydney’s beloved Tiny’s Sandwich and Cocktail Bar.
Dan Dan promises to bring something new to the inner-city enclave, fusing crowd-pleasing pan-Asian favourites with fresh techniques. Head Chef Andrew Duncan’s menu features bold flavour combinations inspired by his and Bobby’s world travels.
By day, Dan Dan operates as a café-like establishment with breakfast bites and coffee, catering to locals and office workers in the area. As noon approaches, lunchtime gets going, with offerings like Dan Dan Fried Rice and Chicken Laksa, alongside lighter lunch options like Tuna Sashimi Salad. Dan Dan also offers an express lunch menu featuring takeaway sandwiches and bowls, like the drool-worthy Bang Bang Chicken or Miso Salmon Bowl.
Come dusk, Dan Dan transforms into a vibrant bar and dinner venue. Pop in after work, or at the weekend to get a taste of mouthwatering share plates like the delectable caramelised fried eggplant, or crowd-pleaser cheeseburger spring rolls.
Dan Dan Noodles, their signature dish, are a must-order. Other lures include the seared scallop jungle curry and Mongolian lamb – we weren’t lying when we said Chef Andrew likes to explore bolder flavours. For groups, there are two banquet feasts to choose from – the Classic (eight dishes) or, if you’re feeling hungry, there’s the Epic (eleven dishes) – perfect for sharing and sampling a variety of dishes to discover your Dan Dan faves!
Dan Dan is full of wonders, that don’t end at the food – the unique cocktail menu features a range of intriguing drinks including the Banana Bread Espresso Martini, the Cherry Blossom Sour, and the wasabi-spiked Shizuoka Margarita. Yum!
With an interior designed by Tomas Scerbo from Interior Life, the minimalist look and feel reflect Dan Dan’s cool, laid-back vibe. Think muted colours and functionality with a hint of Asian flair.
Dan Dan is open Monday to Wednesday from 7am-4pm for breakfast & lunch and Thursday to Saturday from 7am-10pm for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Follow Dan Dan on Instagram here to keep up to date with what’s on. Find out more and book to dine here.
