Are you the next master of the ‘brewniverse’? Coopers is looking for Australia’s next best DIY brewer.
Coopers first launched their DIY brew kits back in the 70s when legislation was changed to allow brewing at home. Fast forward 40+ years and Aussie home brewers are about as abundant as well, beer itself. Now Coopers is looking for the next master of the ‘brewniverse’, giving one lucky home brewer the chance to have their beer brewed and canned by Coopers, to be sold nationwide at Dan Murphy’s.
Kicking off in celebration of Good Beer Week on May 9th, the competition runs through until the end of July with the winning brew available in-store at Dan Murphy’s from May 2020.
The only mandatory for entering the competition is that Coopers DIY Beer brewing extract must be used in the brew. As for the all important judging process, all competition entries are collated at nominated Home Brew Stores, to be judged by certified BJCP judges. From here, four finalists will be chosen from each state to go through to the national judging.
The winner will then have their beer brewed and canned by Coopers Brewery and sold through Dan Murphy’s.
“We’re keen to discover Australia’s greatest DIY brewer and launch the next generation of DIY brewers, with this exciting opportunity” said Scott Harris, Coopers, Brewing Products, Divisional Manager.
“With Coopers DIY Beer, brewing can be as simple as ‘Mix, Brew, Bottle, Enjoy,’ or you can get adventurous with your own additions and creative flair. While we know this will excite our current users, it is also the perfect opportunity for eager beginners. Many established craft brewers started their journey with Coopers DIY Beer so we’re hoping to incite some nostalgia and hear from some of our old fans too.”
