Everyone’s favourite color-sprayed fun run is back and better than ever.
If a 5km run sounds about as fun as sitting a math’s exam, this next event might change your tune. Forget sprinting to the finish line and battling it out for the fastest time. This is one fun run that doesn’t care about who takes out first prize.
Since launching in 2011, The Color Run has been the world’s first COLOR 5K and COLOR DASH events. These races throw out the rule book, with no winners or official finish times. Their goal? To encourage everyone, from beginners to pros, to get active and forge unforgettable memories with their mates, all while raising funds for a good cause. This year, Color Run Australia has teamed up with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, with all profits going directly towards helping bring fun, joy and laughter to sick kids and their families.
The Australian leg of the global Color Run Love Tour lands in Sydney this November, taking place at Sydney Olympic Park for one day only. In celebration of the love that is all around, Sydneysiders are encouraged to flock to the parklands to take part in the ultimate color-sprayed 5km fun run. And this event has earned its title as the ‘Happiest 5k on the Planet™’ for good reason, with participants doused from head-to-toe in clouds of colour at dedicated Color Zones each kilometre. Plus, they’re all be a Bubble Zone, a pink and purple color-clash at the 7-Eleven Super Zone and a dream-land Foam Zone by Vöost.
Everyone who crosses the finish line is awarded with a limited-edition unicorn medal, plus a tie-dye buff, love t-shirt and temporary tattoos to help participants celebrate their achievement. And the fun doesn’t stop once the race is over, with DJ Tallie and DJ Coldeed hosting the ultimate post-race party (complete with giant color throws) at the event’s Finish Festival.
Once you’ve danced to your heart’s content, quench your thirst with a free Slurpee, take on seat on the giant swing and capture the moment in the event’s ball-pit inside the 7-Eleven Love Playground. Now, this is one fun run you won’t want to miss out on.
