Discover the Festive Magic Across the Harbour City.

Sydney’s gearing up for the holidays with a city-wide celebration that blends summer energy with festive magic. From the 24-metre Christmas tree lighting up Martin Place to carollers, laneway light trails and neighbourhood street fairs, the season officially begins with a full program of events curated by the City of Sydney.

The celebrations kick off on Thursday, 27th November, marking the opening weekend with the Martin Place Christmas tree lighting and Santa’s sleigh ride through the city, a magical start to Sydney’s festive season.

Running from late November, the line-up includes free outdoor concerts across Pyrmont, Glebe, Rosebery, Rushcutters Bay and Alexandria, alongside lighting projections and decorations throughout the CBD. Pitt Street Mall and George Street will shimmer with installations, while Martin Place becomes the centrepiece once again as home to the tallest Christmas tree in the southern hemisphere.

New this year, Surry Hills joins the festivities with a vibrant day-to-night street fair. Crown Street will be closed to traffic on Saturday, 13th December, transforming into a buzzing open-air celebration filled with entertainment, food, and local flair.
