Champagne Season at The Langham

Drink, Eat, Events, Sydney / 6 November 2013

So you missed Global Champagne Day (what, there was one?!).
Don’t fear; The Langham recently launched The Season, a month long celebration of bubblies, flowers and all things spring. Starting November, the hotel, along with the exquisite Laurent-Perrier Champagne and the beautifully fragrant Pearsons Florist, will hold daily Tiffin Afternoon Tea (with vintage champagne, dahlings!) and Champagne and Oysters. They will also be having a Champagne Degustation on the 27th November.

To the honoured few, a sneak preview was hosted. On an unusually windy Spring night, guests walked into The Langham in full bloom. Before entering the Galileo restaurant, we were treated to Laurent-Perrier Champagne Brut. Who doesn’t love a welcome champagne drink?
In the restaurant, Pearsons Florist outdid themselves with an entire corner of fragrantly crisp flowers, which became the backdrop of photo-ops for Sydney’s who’s-who.  People mingled between the freshly shucked oysters and delectable cheese station. Top it all off with a sweet sounding jazz band and the night was swinging.

Oh, did I mention the overflowing champagne?  I am by no means an expert but while drinking the vintage Laurent-Perrier words like lively, full-bodied and thank-you-for-inviting came to mind.
Check it out before it disappears…
