A Rooftop Bar Where Surf Culture, Cocktails and Gigs Collide: Say Hello To Bombies

Drink, Eat / 6 June 2025

Harbord Hotel has officially levelled up. Perched above the iconic Freshwater institution, Bombies is the rooftop bar shaking up Sydney’s north with surfer energy, nostalgic 70s aesthetics and an electric live music lineup.

Opening just in time for the King’s Birthday long weekend, this open-air venue channels the carefree buzz of a beach house party, only with better snacks, bolder cocktails and ocean views.

Named after the wild offshore waves surfers chase for the thrill, Bombies is a community hub and a tribute to the golden era of surf culture. The design that feels straight out of a retro band house (think warm wood, bold murals, and polished concrete). Expect a rolling calendar of music, comedy and film, backed by a drinks list with serious party credentials.
