Pull up a seat at the window and watch the Crown St commotion play out or take a seat at the bar and peruse the cocktails list. The Playboy Back Page combines Dubonnet, Hennessy Cognac, Parfait Amour with orange and lemon, whilst Grandma’s Little Helper is a more complicated mixture of earl grey liqueur, peach schnapps, Manzanilla sherry, vermouth, fresh mint and egg whites. You’ll also find classics like the Old Fashioned and an Manhattan  if you prefer something more familiar.

Co-owner Erez Gordon is the brains behind the cocktail operation and has concocted some pretty tasty alcoholic treats. If you want something that packs a serious punch, try the Gin Yum, a tart and zippy combo of Bombay Sapphire gin, muddled ginger, coriander, lemongrass chilli and lime. Meanwhile, Chef Paul Cooper has something for every palate to help soak up all that alcohol.

The à la carte menu will have you enjoying three courses of your choice, but the six-course degustation menu is a culinary treat for the ages. With a constantly changing menu, you might be blessed with the salt-baked Wollondale lamb, eggplant tapenade, capers and potato with red pepper sauce, or the corner Melanda pork jowl, escabenche of Hawkesbury River squid, barbeque corn and lemon verbena.

With matching wine, the snack menu is a must for anyone looking to relax, settle in for the evening and eat at their own pace. The bar food menu boasts pork pies, French fries with oyster mayonnaise, deep-fried lamb and miso soldiers and the oyster po’boy. Perhaps a little upside-down bitter chocolate tart with salted caramel ice cream, honeycomb and fig for dessert? Or how about the strawberry cheesecake? It’s your choice.
