Sydney’s favourite block party is back with the BEAMS Arts Festival

Come the 17th of September the busy streets and laneways of Chippendale will be transformed into a wonderland of twinkling lights, toe tapping rhythms and creative energy. The BEAMS Arts Festival is back with a bang in it’s fifth year running and will have all you Sydney-siders dancing in the streets.
For one night only, BEAMS will be throwing out a huge lineup of colourful musical acts plus contemporary artists wowing us with light installations, interactive art and dance performances and on site sculptural installations. Toss in local food trucks and an array of options from Chippendales most passionate chefs and eateries and you’ve got yourself one jam packed Saturday night. Navigate your way around Chippendale and discover something new around every turn.
BEAMS Arts Festival - Table
Taking to the streets for one exceptional yet flash fast night of colour, form, movement and sound are some of the countries best up and coming musical artists. This years lineup has something to suit every music lovers needs, whether they be in search of a rave cave, some energising Flamenco tunes or blissful harmonies that will wind down your action packed Saturday.
BEAMS Arts Festival - Goldheist
This year you’ll see acts like Goldheist, who will take you on an enchanting adventure with her charming musical sound. Goldheist won the People’s Choice Award at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2016 and carries a sound that speaks of compassion and human spirit to all. It’s not a Saturday night without carving up the dance floor. Electronic pop artist Astrix Little‘s electrifying tunes are her own brand of nightclub beats and airy indie pop and will be your d-floor guide. And for something on a completely different spectrum, introduce yourself to the tunes of Frieda’s Boss. They’ll be adding a little of their own reggae flair to the evening’s line up. So prepare yourself for their dangerous rhythms and beats – they’ll be Jamaican you crazy.
BEAMS Arts Festival - Andrew May
If it’s a feast for the eyes instead of the ears you’re after than look no further than BEAMS incredible lineup of art, dance and performance. Settle in for a night of calming stories by a poet or get ready to be wowed by the phenomenal moves of a freestyle dancer. From opera singers to expert graffiti artists, there isn’t anything BEAMS has missed. For some down time to yourself visit any one of the astounding light and art installations and marvel in their creative wonder.
BEAMS Arts Festival - Kayter Co
No doubt you’ll be feeling peckish by the end of all this wonderment. The BEAMS Arts Festival is happy to be bringing you a whole array of eats and treats, with food trucks and local eateries all participating. The Eat Art Truck will give you the energy to keep exploring with their 8 hour hot smoked pulled pork bun ($12). Go OTT with dessert at Kayter Co‘s dessert food truck experience. Their cronut sticks are an art installation in themselves.
