Bar 1880 Unveils a Bold New Cocktail Menu and Weekly Specials

Drink / 16 May 2025

Moody interiors, playful cocktails and unbeatable after-work vibes — Bar 1880 is heating things up this winter.

Tucked beneath the bustling streets of Sydney’s CBD, Bar 1880 has been quietly building a name for itself since swinging open its doors in 2023. With its old-world charm, dimly lit corners and cheeky signature cocktails, it’s fast becoming a favourite for date nights, catch-ups, and late-night tipples. Now, as the temperature drops, the team is shaking things up with a brand-new cocktail menu and a lineup of weekly specials that are all about sipping, snacking, and settling in.

The revamped menu features 11 inventive cocktails, including the Berry Necessary — a clarified gin number that blends cranberry, Chambord, raspberry syrup and citric acid into a theatrical (and wildly photogenic) sip. Then there’s the Basil Bandit, a herbaceous take on the martini with basil-infused dry vermouth, herb oil drips and a cheeky dash of soy sauce.

The team is also dialling up the weekday energy with a suite of new weekly specials:

  • Tipple Hour (Mon–Fri, 5–6pm): Kick off the night with $14 cocktails, $8 beers, and a rotating $20 monthly cocktail. This month’s star? A barrel-aged beauty called Roll Out the Barrel.

  • After Hour Bites (Tues & Wed, all night): Settle in with special snack pricing when you order drinks — we’re talking $13 burrata, $25 cheese boards and a $32 charcuterie spread worth sharing.

  • Delightful Duo Thursdays (from 6pm): Two cocktails for $28 — ideal for date night or a debrief with a mate.
