Watsons Bay Hotel Race

Get ready for the Man and Dog stand-up races on Australia Day! Kicking off at 7.30am, paddlers will race across the bay with their pooch by their feet in this open-to-all competition. With different categories available, WATTSUP will be hosting introductions to stand up paddling sessions which you can register for here. Watsons Bay will also be hosting the famous Day Brunch an all-you-can-eat buffet offering for $75 per head, from 9am – 12pm. Manly Wharf Hotel

Start your Australia Day celebrations early with Manly Wharf’s Australia Day Eve party. With DJs, amazing views of the harbour and a sun-soaked evening, tickets are $20 plus BF. Starting at 3pm till late, you can buy tickets here. Continue the celebrations with Triple J hottest 100 party featuring DJ Devola on Australia Day. Free entry, the day includes classic cheese and vegemite pizzas and a BBQ on the wharf.

The Keg & Brew

Get involved in a journey of discovery into some of Australia’s top beers, burgers and beats. Starting at 10 am, the Triple J Hottest 100 will be also be running the party throughout the day. Then join the Hottest 100 Craft Beer Countdown at 12.30pm where 10 of Australia’s hottest craft beers of 2014 will be announced. Find out more here.

Stefano Manfredi BBQ

For the last couple weeks leading up to Australia Day, Stefano Manfredi’s Italian restaurant is getting an all-Aussie makeover. The Big Aussie Barbecue at Ball will include Moreton Bay bugs with garlic butter onthe menu, alongside calamari from the South Australian coast with tomato and almond sauce, kangaroo loin fillet with black peppercorn sauce and lamb cutlets with roast garlic dressing.

The Yard Party

Jamaican food fanatics and Ja Joint. have teamed up with Budgy Smugglers to create a Yard Party Kit for $49. An initiative that helps celebrate the multitude of cultural identities that make up modern day Australia. Included in the kit is Ja Joint’s jerk rub, barbecue sauce, recipes and more. NOVA’S Slidestreet

It’s not Australia Day without the Slip ‘n’ Slide. The big 315m green and gold slip’n’slide will be built on Parkes Drive, Centennial Park on 26 January. There will also be food trucks, DJs, pop up bars and more for your entertainment. First release tickets are now on sale and can be bought here.

The Collaroy

Five hotly contested crab races will mark The Collaroy’s first Australia Day celebrations this January 26. Running between 2pm and 6pm, race goers will have the opportunity to purchase and name their very own ‘crab-lete’. There will be great prizes for all those who back the 6 legged winner.
