Mark your calendars, Sydney! Comedy icon Amy Poehler is gracing the shores of Sydney Harbour this May, bringing her wit and wisdom to Vivid Ideas, a cornerstone of Vivid Sydney 2024.

For those who remember Leslie Knope from the beloved sitcom Parks and Recreation, or cherish Poehler’s iconic turns on Saturday Night Live, this is a rare opportunity to witness her captivating presence live. The Emmy Award-winning actress, writer, and producer will be in conversation with broadcaster Zan Rowe at the Sydney Opera House on May 27th.

But the evening holds more than just insightful conversation. Fans of the heartwarming Pixar film Inside Out will be thrilled with a special 30-minute preview of the highly anticipated sequel, Inside Out 2. Poehler, who once again lends her voice to the effervescent Joy, will offer a glimpse into this next chapter exploring the complexities of the human mind.

Poehler’s appearance at Vivid Sydney is a natural fit. The festival’s 2024 theme, “Humanity,” aligns perfectly with her ability to connect with audiences through humour and relatable characters.
