Australia’s first premium plant protein brand, Bloom Providore, collaborates with Ovolo Hotels to bring Sydneysiders 12 tasty vegetarian & vegan-friendly dishes at Alibi Bar & Kitchen in Wooloomooloo.
All G Food’s Bloom Providore isn’t your typical meat alternative product you would usually purchase from the local supermarket. It isn’t your average veggie burger patty or sausage. The difference? It is Australia’s first gourmet plant protein brand targeting exclusively Aussie chefs who understand and know how to hero and work with proteins.
Inspired by meat, the plant protein brand offers a range of minces inspired by the meats that we grew up loving. Think the whole range – from Beef, Lamb, Pork, Chicken, Duck & Fish with textures that mimics the real thing. Combined with the creative expertise of renowned chefs from Ovolo Hotel Group and led by the hotel chain’s head chef, Ian Curley, the collaboration introduces to Australians a game changer on plant protein as we know it.
Ian and his team across Ovolo’s restaurants have created 12 new and exclusive dishes with Bloom Providore products. Some dishes we sampled and enjoyed included the Verde Stuffed Pepper, which featured mince Inspired by Beef wrapped in banana pepper, drizzled with eggplant kasundi, and complimented by a slice of crispy poached taro to give the dish a pop of texture.
Next up on the menu was a plant based twist on the good ole Italian favourite – the tortellini. The Tortelloni Non Tradizionali was truly an Italian spectacle on both the plate and the palate. Served with seasonal vegetables and crispy saffron leaves, these little pockets of deliciousness will leave you wanting more.
If you are after something a bit more hearty, the Planta Cocido was a crowd favourite. Inspired by the traditional Spanish dish, this one features Bloom Providore’s beef mince meatballs, paired with creamy cauliflower puree with a kick of spice brought on by the salsa macha.
These tasty dishes will be available across Olovo Hotel’s restaurants across the country starting from October. However, Sydneysiders can check out the menu at the hotel chain’s vegan restaurant, The Alibi Bar & Kitchen, in Ovolo Woolloomooloo.
Alibi Bar & Kitchen is open seven days a week. Enjoy drinks and a meal daily from 4pm – 12am.
