Papi Chulo, one of the more recent editions to the Merivale Group, delivers it all. Located on the boardwalk at Manly Wharf, Papi’s boasts incredibly easy access to million dollar views of Sydney Harbour.
Merivale nails it when it comes to styling their venues and Papi Chulo is no different. It feels like an understated, beachside cabana with people watching perches by the window, high tables and booth style seating. The turquoise coloured checked floors and big open windows add to this sun drenched venue, perfect for sundowners.
This Manly Wharf powerhouse has arguably one of the smokiest, tastiest menus in Sydney right now full of southern American barbecue and South American seafood. We love a smokehouse that preaches the low and slow approach to its meat.

If like us, you are terrible at making decisions try the Papi Chulo BBQ platter and let the sweet smoked goodness of lamb ribs, wagyu brisket, pulled pork and cheese kransky serenade your soul.
If bathing in smokehouse glory is not your deal then check out the grill menu. It’s got Jumbo King Prawns grilled and dressed to absolute perfection and locally caught snapper with a spicy, zesty sauce sure to whet the summer palate.
Think the food is good…try the cocktails.  Right now it’s full of summery drinks like the Cravado made with coconut water blended with lychee and vodka. Also try the Mami Chula a tequila and frozen watermelon delight.
