Hawker Hall on Chapel Street is rolling out ‘Fired Up!’, a new weekend lunch offering.
Known for its Southeast Asian flavours, the eatery is adding some fire to its already diverse menu, providing a much-needed warm-up as the temperatures dip.
‘Fired Up!’ presents patrons with a selection of flame-grilled dishes designed to pack a punch. From the lemongrass marinated beef skewers complemented with a rich peanut sauce to the herb-infused grilled calamari served with a chili and lime sauce, each dish brings its own unique warmth to the table.
The menu also includes mini banh mi rolls filled with pork charsiu, pickled carrot, fresh coriander, and a scattering of crispy shallots. The star of the show, however, may be the barramundi filet, expertly baked in banana leaf with sambal paste and a squeeze of lime.
For those seeking to quench their thirst, Hawker Hall has added $15 spicy margaritas and $5 beers from a featured ‘brewer of the month’ to the menu. This lineup of beverages pairs well with the flame-grilled fare, enhancing the meal’s overall appeal.
The first weekend of ‘Fired Up!’, falling on May 20th and 21st, sets the tone for the weeks to come. Visitors can expect an energetic atmosphere with Melbourne DJs, including DJ Colette and Billie-Jean, spinning vinyl tunes all afternoon. The DJ set will continue on subsequent weekends, adding a musical note to the feast.
‘Fired Up!’ runs on weekends from 12 pm to 4 pm. Although walk-ins are accepted, bookings are recommended to ensure a spot. With the launch of ‘Fired Up!’, Hawker Hall continues to keep the Melbourne food scene exciting and unpredictable, proving once again its expertise in crafting satisfying meals with a twist.
