After a long hiatus, the iconic Anglers Tavern has reopened its doors.

Welcoming the community back to a beloved local spot on the Maribyrnong River. Following a 21-month closure due to the late 2022 floods, the revamped venue promises a mix of nostalgia and modern charm. Venue Manager Christian Mendez and his team are excited to see the familiar faces of locals and visitors enjoying the new offerings of this historic pub.

EAT: A Culinary Revival

The Anglers Tavern now boasts a refreshed bistro space that exudes a family-friendly atmosphere, paying homage to the area’s boating history with warm woods and blue tones. The new menu features a delectable array of share plates, pizzas, and pub classics. Diners can savour dishes like the woodfired flatbread with house-made dips or the crispy chicken tenders with chilli BBQ sauce and pickles. Seafood enthusiasts will delight in the Anglers’ signatures, such as the Prawn Roll with herb mayo and the show-stopping Anglers Seafood Tower, a feast that includes salt & pepper squid, natural oysters, and chilled tiger prawns. For dessert lovers, there’s even a giant soft-serve wall to indulge in.

DRINK: Riverside Refreshments

The outdoor beer garden, with its astro turf, market umbrellas, and picnic tables, offers an idyllic riverside setting. This space is perfect for enjoying the warm weather with a cold drink in hand. Sports fans are well-catered for, with major sporting events displayed on supersized screens in the Sports Bar. The two bars on level one, part of the newly revamped functions space, ensure that guests can enjoy their favourite beverages while taking in stunning river views during events or corporate meetings.

The Kids Quarters features an outdoor playground, an interactive scrabble wall, an iPad station, bikes and trikes, and a giant noughts and crosses game. There’s even a kids’ reading room for quieter moments. The venue also hosts a variety of weekly entertainment, including trivia nights on Wednesdays and live acoustic tunes on Sundays. The launch weekend, from 2nd to 4th August, promises free family-friendly activities, live music, and even a butterfly enclosure.
