Your favourite floating bar, Arbory Afloat, is back for the summer

Drink, Eat, Melbourne / 24 September 2019

Floating on the Yarra River with spectacular Melbourne city views, Arbory Afloat is back for its third consecutive season, this time bringing some major tropical vibes.

Inspired by the sunny beaches of 1970’s Miami, you can expect decor reminiscent of a relaxed day by the poolside – pastel blue and pink tones with palm trees throughout. This year’s reopening features the addition of Arbory Afloat’s very own top deck swimming pool with sweeping views from day to night. The upper deck of the bar has also been extended for extra lounging space, so you can kick back comfortably with a drink in hand. If you’re looking to celebrate in style, private Cabanas are available for pre-booking, perfect for that next special event.

Tying in with the Miami theme, executive chef Nick Bennett has turned to Latin American flavours for a specially curated food experience. The menu at Arbory Afloat channels the soul of Miami’s Wynwood district and the street food of Little Havana. Be taken away to another city with Miami style sandwiches like the Cuban midnight sandwich, served with waffle fries. Southern Rock lobster tacos drizzled with truffle aioli and avocado chimichurri are also available. If you’re visiting with friends, share small plates of tapas around the table, such as cauliflower mac and cheese croquetas and pork belly ribs with tamarind barbecue sauce.

Abory Afloat Food

It wouldn’t be a floating bar without an impressive drinks list. Wine Director, Raul Moreno Yague, has sourced a full list of aromatic whites, reds and rosé, perfect for those long hot summer days. Fruit-driven cocktails are also on the menu, alongside an extended rum menu and gin offerings with summer weekend drinks in mind.

Arbory Afloat is open every day from 11am to 1am, including Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. Live entertainment onboard features the best upcoming DJ’s (curated by Sky Lab) to ensure you’ll be dancing your night away.
