After more than a decade of careful planning, collaboration and quiet anticipation and a $25 million investment, one of Australia’s most extraordinary travel experiences has officially arrived.
Introducing the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Signature Walk—a five-day, 54-kilometre guided journey through the heart of Central Australia, connecting two of the country’s most iconic natural landmarks in a way that’s never been possible before. But this isn’t just another bucket-list hike. In fact, calling it a “walk” barely scratches the surface.
Spanning a landscape that dates back 500 million years, this newly unveiled trail invites guests to move slowly and intentionally through Country, following 38 kilometres of newly mapped paths that weave between Uluru and Kata Tjuta. It’s immersive, it’s intimate—and for the first time ever, it includes the opportunity to sleep inside the World Heritage-listed national park. Yes, really.
Guests will stay in off-grid lodgings designed to blend seamlessly into the desert environment, offering a level of comfort that feels almost surreal when paired with the vast, ancient surroundings. Think warm meals, thoughtful design, and uninterrupted views of a night sky so clear it barely feels real. But what makes this experience truly unique isn’t just the access—it’s the permission.
Developed in close partnership with Anangu Traditional Owners, the walk represents a meaningful shift away from the past and toward a more respectful way of experiencing this deeply significant place. It’s a journey shaped by story, culture and connection—one that encourages travellers to listen as much as they look.
“This walk isn’t about what you see. It’s about how you feel,” says Tasmanian Walking Company co-owner Brett Godfrey. And that sentiment echoes throughout the entire experience. The five-day journey starts from $5,395 per person twin share.
