Two Birds Brewing say ‘hello summer’ with free Taco Tins!
This Thursday marks the beginning of the summer season. Where days by the beach, backyard cricket and the consumption of a cold tinnie are Aussie prerogatives. To celebrate the season swap, Two Birds Brewing are hosting exclusive launch parties in both Sydney and Melbourne. Free beer and tacos are at the top of the agenda!
The Sydney party will get underway at Keg & Brew in Surry Hills, with Melbourne’s party kicking off at Slow Beer in Fitzroy. Starting from 6pm, specialty Taco Tins as well as delicious soft shell tacos will be handed out to all takers, FREE! There’s also an opportunity to meet and greet the Two Birds crew and take advantage of special pricing on the night.
So where does the ‘Taco Tin’ come from? The concept was birthed in 2013, when Two Birds co-founders Danielle Allen and Jayne Lewis made a trip to Southern California. Searching for inspiration to build their dream, these two birds came to the ingenious notion of brewing a beer using the flavours of their favourite food on the trip, Mexican tacos.
Originally brewed as a one-off beer for a festival in 2013, people loved the brew so much that it became a permanent creation.
If you’re wondering how it all works, Taco Tins are brewed using ale and wheat malts, with the addition of flaked corn. Citra and Amarillo hops offer the citrus and hoppy notes present in the brew. These flavours work in perfect accompaniment to coriander root and lime peel.
The good news is that after the launch, Taco Tins will becoming readily available nationally! You’ll be able to find them in all good bottle shops, with a 4 pack costing $20.
