As flowers start to bloom, the weather gets a little warmer, days get longer, Spring becomes the perfect season for a day of racing. The Australian Spring thoroughbred racing season kicked off on the 13th of September with the spotlight now shining on Sydney from 13 September to 18 October for the 2014 Sydney Spring Carnival.
Over a series of must-attend events this racing season, there will be a backdrop of unsurpassable fashion, hospitality, and entertainment as Australia’s best horses, jockeys and trainers converge on the city of Sydney.

20th September– George Main Stakes Day at Royal Randwick will boast the Group 1 George Main Stakes (worth $350,000) followed by a number of Group 2 races, making it a popular day for punters. As for the ladies, Clinique will launch its Spring pamper sessions with the Clinique Lounge.
27th September– Golden Pendant Day at Rosehill Gardens will feature the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes and the $300,000 Group 3 Golden Pendant as the track shares its day with the AFL Grand Final, making it the ultimate sporting day for the lads. The ladies are invited to attend a special Ladies Long Lunch featuring Karen Gee Collection in the beautifully appointed Grand Pavilion.
October 4th– The Star Epsom Day at Royal Randwick, will be Sydney’s premier race day for the Sydney Spring Carnival, showcasing three major Group 1 races. These include The Star Epsom Handicap ($500,000), the McGrath Estate Agents Metropolitan ($400,000) and the Coolmore Flight Stakes ($400,000). NRL Grand Final ticket holders will receive free entry to the Royal Randwick as part of a special offer.
11th October- The Moet & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day is on at Royal Randwick. Apart from the featured Group 1 race, the Moet & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day, this meeting promises a day full of fashion, fun and famous faces. The day will also include the hotly contested New South Wales State Final for the Myer Fashions on the Field, supported by Vogue Australia, with the winner receiving flights from Emirates and entrance to the National Field. Be sure to get there early as the first 1500 general admission ticket purchases will receive a flute of Moet & Chandon valued at $22.
18th October- City Tattersalls Club Cup Day Sydney Spring Carnival will wrap up with this race and include a range of entertainment and pop up bars as the end of the carnival is celebrated and passed onto Melbourne.
