Pure Blonde White Party

Bars, Sydney / 15 November 2010

It’s almost summer and there’s a new beer in town, calls for a massive themed party right? The Lawn at Ivy was transformed into ‘Brewtopia’ for the official launch of Pure Blonde White Larger last Tuesday. The theme was Pure White Summer turning the  once green lawn into a sea of white party peeps including the ‘Brewtopian gods and goddesses’.
The highlight of the night was a performance by ARIA Award winning Sia who played 3 songs–‘Clap Your Hands’, Girl You Lost’ and ‘Breathe Me’. She’s an eccentric character but damn this lady can sing. She kept the crowd captivated.
The rest of the night was spent dancing to Daimon Downey (formerly Sneaky Sound System) and DJ Johnny Pow. The boys from Justice Crew also got on stage for some break dancing and my favourite Polite in Public booth was there for funny dress up photos.
The beer itself didn’t make a real impact I prefer the original Pure Blonde. What’s the difference?  Pure Blonde White Lager is brewed longer to reduce the carbs but being a wheat beer still has the full flavour of a regular beer…not so watered down. (I think that’s right)! Anyway one thing is for sure…they certainly threw a killer party!
