Swap Fashion Week For Maker’s Mark Old Fashioned Week

Maker’s Mark Old Fashioned Week begins tomorrow, Thursday 12th May and runs until 20th May. The inaugural event is running in conjunction with Sydney Fashion Week. A celebration of Maker’s Mark bourbon and Old Fashioned Cocktails, there will be venues across Sydney participating in the laid back fun.
Earl’s Juke Joint will be hosting the first party of the week tonight, May 11th to kick off the celebrations. Each bar will create their own twist on the Old Fashioned, so no cocktail is the same.
An intimate True Maker’s workshop will be taking place at The Wild Rover in Surry Hills on May 18th. Artist Anthony Lister and surfboard shaper Simon Anderson will be the main guests of the evening, with Lister having fashioned a glass specially for the Old Fashioned Week. The glass will be available at a few of the bars throughout the week.
Maker’s Mark Old Fashioned Week bartender and The Perfect Blend NSW State Final Winner, Dale Schoon of Earl’s Juke Joint said:
“The great thing about an Old Fashioned is it makes whisky more approachable. Maker’s Mark is perfect for the job. Switching rye out for wheat makes for a sweeter, softer spirit and in turn, a gentle sipping Old Fashioned with a long, warm finish.”
Maker’s Mark was borne out of tradition at the historic distillery in Loretto, Kentucky with a recipe which replaced the standard rye with red winter wheat as the flavour grain, for a softer finish.
Participating bars include: Earl’s Juke Joint, Wild Rover, Soda Factory, Papa Gede’s, Shirt Bar, Ramblin Rascal Tavern, Stitch Bar, The Roosevelt, The Commons, Riley St Garage and The Village Inn.
