Get down to Bondi for a post-work dip then check out Sydney’s latest pop-up bar, Burgers ‘n’ Brew.
You’ll find this temporary joint tucked away just metres from the beach, in the spot previously occupied by contemporary Japanese restaurant PaperPlanes. The cool, casual vibes still remain but the space has been given a fun spin with colourful chairs and graffiti covered walls.
B’n’B is catching onto the wave of Americana with the likes of Chur Burger, Mary’s and Neil Perry’s soon-to-open, Burger Project, sweeping the city. Amid stiff competition, B’n’B’s menu doesn’t disappoint. It offers the standard crowd pleasers; The Brew Burger $14 and Double Beef Cheeseburger $18, as well as the more experimental Prawn Burger (accompanied with apple and yuzu aioli $16) and Sloppy Henry (chilli beans in a bun $10).
Vegetarians can eat their heart out with the Tofu Burger ($14). And vegans need not worry – Burgers ‘n’ Brew serves a GlammaRamma Bun-Less Burger ($12). After all, it is Bondi.
On top of it all, B’n’B’s sweet potato wedges ($8) are pretty darn good. Served thickly cut and crispy, with chilli mayo on the side.
In what seems like a natural accompaniment, Young Henry’s boutique Newtown Brewery has collaborated with B’n’B to offer their popular boozy staples; cider, ale and lager.
If you fancy something lighter before your burger and beer combo, a selection of summery cocktails are also on offer. Jacks BBQ Lemonade (Jack Daniels, triple sec, ginger beer + fresh lime, lemon and mint, $16) and the NOBO Bellini (peach and lychee puree topped with Prosecco) will have you wishing that summer would never end.
