Radom Shoes In Darlinghurst?
The Mystery Accessories Wall
Some time ago I posted a picture of a random pair of shoes I found sitting on a wall in Darlinghurst. A month later, there was another pair of shoes sitting on the wall in the exact same place. I took another photo and posted it. Another month later i was walking home at night and sitting there on the wall…you guessed it…another pair of shoes, this time mens! Since then other random accessories have made an appearance including a shopping bag and pair of crutches! They are never there the next day. I have no idea who puts them there or who takes them!

Where are these shoes/bags/crutches coming from?
I’ve been racking my brain and here are some of the theories I’ve come up with:
- This is a new place for people to leave their unwanted shoes and I missed the memo
- Someone has read my last blog post and is trying to freak me out
- The person who lives on the other side of the wall keeps getting drunk and drops their shoes as they try to jump over the fence (why don’t they use the front gate?)
- There is a secret vortex to another realm built into the wall and anyone who tries to climb it gets sucked into a third dimension where shoes aren’t allowed
- It’s code for a) this is a brothel b) a drug dealer lives here c) some crazy guerilla marketing for a shoe repair man

How peculiar!!! The plot thickens… Keep us updated!
Hi Ms Darlinghurst…don’t know if it’s related but I was at Pitch Perfect (journo/PR thing) tonight and someone mentioned that Shop to You Drop (I think) have a promotion on today and tomorrow where they are giving out FREE shoes, worth thousands of dollars just leaving them around…so GRAB THEM!
I’m not sure if its the same thing but it sounds like it!

Naomi I did hear about that promotion and it was for designer heels. Trust me if a pair of Jimmy Choos were sitting on this wall I would be doing more than just photographing them!

Oh this is too funny… Maybe you should leave a message on the wall…requesting something random to be put there, like a tea pot. or leave the message on your blog so you can find out if this really is some reader fucking with your head!! hahaha hilarious. but seriously, the top pair of shoes are kind of cute.
