Jelly Bean Bikes
Ok time for a grumble about the cool things that Melbourne has that Sydney doesn’t. Namely flat inner city roads, with no hills perfect for riding fixed gear bikes! Sure, it’s not enough to make Ms Darlinghurst leave her beloved Sydney but hell you try riding a BMX up Liverpool St from The East Village on a Sunday arvo!
To make me even more jealous, Daily Addict yesterday featured Jelly Bean Bikes, a design your own bike website and yes you guessed it, they’re based in Melbourne. Good news is they’ll still ship your custom fixie to Sydney for only $50.
First it was design your own heels with Shoes of Prey and now I am completely addicted to designing my own bike. I’ve spent hours playing with colour combos, matching them to outfits in my wardrobe, making sure none of my sneakers clash.
