Gents, dust off your laderhosen. Ladies, get your dirndls cleaned. Oktoberfest in the Gardens is returning to Australia, giving beer lovers across the nation the chance to clink glasses and shout ‘prost!’ on home soil this October.
Returning for its seventh year, Oktoberfest in the Gardens is set to replicate the traditional Bavarian festival with two massive beer halls lined with long tables perfect for large groups. A beer festival isn’t warranted without plenty of delicious brews, and Australia’s Oktobefest has plenty of them. At Oktoberfest in the Gardens, you’re encouraged to taste your way around Europe with a large selection of imported German beer, as well as cider, wine and schnapps for those less inclined to the staple foamy beverage.
Expect plenty of authentic German food stalls selling freshly made hot pretzels, Bratwurst hotdogs, waffles, gingerbread hearts and more. There to get your toes a-tapping in the tent hall will also be a long list of German entertainers including a 20-piece brass band, yodellers, roving accordion players, pretzel fräuleins and a number of other German bands on and off stage. The party doesn’t stop there, with a silent disco plus sideshow alley set to kick off across multiple stages throughout the afternoon and evening.
As an added bonus, your ticket to Oktoberfest in the Gardens also includes a commemorative event stein (550ml) and a can of German beer (or non-alcoholic alternative) on entry. We’ll cheers to that.
