Three Markets in May

A celebration of local marketplaces will be held at an event called Markets in May happening on the first three Thursdays of next month. On the 5th, 12th and 19th of May, Martin Place will be bustling with a market crowd presenting an array of stalls for their biggest market event yet. Making an appearance will be Beaches Market, The Brewery Yard Markets, and The Blak Market all displaying their unique market experiences in one of Sydney’s busiest spaces.
Markets
Beaches will be the first market place to be featured on Thursday 5th.  It will showcase a variety of local fruit and vegetables, fish, meats and cheeses. Local growers and chefs will be attending so you can ‘taste and talk’ about their products. There will also be a selection of artisan breads, pastries, and oils available.
The second week will stage The Brewery Yard Markets. A premium marketplace located in Chippendale, they will be transporting some of their goodies to Martin Place. High quality products including fashion, jewellery, furniture, home wares and flowers will be on display. Accompanying the stalls will be local live music acts and pop-ups from some of Sydney’s best eats including Mr. Bao and Brooklyn Boy Bagels.
The Blak Market will be exhibiting their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture for the final week. This market will feature cultural performances, bushfood, artworks and music for an exciting experience.
Markets
Each market will be presenting their own activities and entertainment from cooking demos and art exhibitions to workshops and market tours. More activities will be announced over the coming month on www.localmarketguide.com.au. Spreading the message of how important markets are to the local community, you sure don’t want to miss these fun events.
