Sophie Thé , Magnum ambassador hosted a summery cool evening of sampling, styling and salad at the modestly antique venue, The Bite Club… wait until you reach the last room facing the street which is awash with surprises, colours and collector items. The well loved property is an almost blank canvas for party planners and resounds with warmth and character.  The quaint event highlighted the simple pleasures we can enjoy at home, especially with a glass of Magnum wine. Magnum is an Australian company that has partnered up with some of our favourite wines including premium brands and winemakers like Hardy’s, Waipara Hills and Brookland Valley, with grapes sourced from some of Australia and New Zealand’s premier wine regions such as Margaret River and Marlborough.

The sophisticated soft packs that boldly transcend the Aussie ‘goon sack’ are the perfect fit for dinner parties. We were treated to a spread of seasonal salads, peach and prosciutto, heirloom tomatoes, broadbeans mixed with crunchy green beans, prawn and chilli grapefruit ceviche and a generous side of Iggy’s, piled high and packed with butter.

Sharing food and wine pleasantly shifted to sharing Sophie’s styling tips for the home. We were endowed with some special tips from the French-born stylist about how to make entertaining at home a fabulous affair. To create soulful and warm environments use delicately placed petals, mismatched pillows, patterns, clusters of candles and displays of preloved and meaningful objects that you have amassed over the years.
