ABSOLUT Wild Tea Competition
ABSOLUT have just released the new limited edition WILD TEA flavour and to celebrate we are giving away a round of drinks for you and 6 friends at Miss Chu in Bondi. The location and cocktails have already been sorted so the hardest thing you’ll need to do is pick your favourite friends to join you. To enter tell us in 200 words or less how you intend on picking your top 6 friends to join you. Will it be whoever does your laundry for a week? Perhaps those 6 friends who you never get time to see? Maybe it’s your 6 mates still studying and have no money? Whatever it is we want to know. Most creative wins. Write your entries in the comments section below. My 6 friends will all be older than me all having turned 60 this year and I am the baby at 55! They are as much fun as they were at 21 we all have so much fun when we are together as if it was the 70′s again. Bottoms up!
I would pick my training team for City 2 Surf. We’re some of the only girls not participating in Dry July this year, so we’d like to celebrate our hard work and training in Bondi!
I will select my six friends by calling for expressions of interest via email. Two hours before the event I will text all those who expressed an interest to let them know if they have been shortlisted for the top 12. One hour before the event I will text 6 friends telling them they have made the final cut. I anticipate this approach will cost me 19 of my remaining 25 friends.
So I Facebook all my friends and ask them if they’re into Absolut Vodka.
The ones who reply are in with a chance, because the rest aren’t social.
Of those, the ones who say no, are out.
The ones who just say ‘yes’, are out.
The small remainder of intelligent drinkers who bother to actively express how much they love Absolute Vodka? They’re in.
But there’ll still be more than 6.
So I start taking bribes.
The first 6 friends to give me a bottle of Absolut Vodka, are in.
Mercenary? Not if you want to be Absolut-ly sure you’re
with the right people.
Simple – which ever friends live closest to me!
I’ll drag 6 of my best mates from Manly over to the city to show them what Darlinghurst is all about.
I’ll send out an invite to mine for 7pm the next day.
I’ll take an old empty bottle of Absolut and play a game of spin the bottle.
The six best kissers, as judged by me, get to come.
The rest get time to practice their technique!
I would select my six special friends based on their varied liking for teas, thus varied flavours in general. That way when we try the drinks at Miss Chu’s, we can all order different drinks, and are able to taste a wider variety, hence appreciate different flavours. Variety is key; just as Absolute has continued to discover!
I am ABSOLUTely blessed. Yep, some would say I’m ‘REAL’ lucky! So here I am at Miss Chu’s in Bondi and my biggest problem in life, is trying to decide between the tiger prawn & green mango rice paper rolls or (naughty but nice) vietnamese pancakes!
Choosing six friends to join me in this moment of decadence was the easy part. Naturally I opted for the ‘bigger boned’ friends so I can look at them and happily eat and eat and eat…just kidding! My friends were chosen because they are REAL friends. Authentic and genuine. Beautiful, funny and kind. Not fickle or superficial. Just real chicks that love life, each other and a good cocktail! Oh yeah, we also share a love of dumplings and vietnamese pancakes! Mmm…pan-cak-es…
Shall I compare thee to my martini…
Abi – because she’s sweet and fresh like Absolut Peach
B – Babe-alicious Rach – Her fiery red hair and sweet as sugar personality are the true essence of Absolut Rasberri
S – Suzi – No party is complete without the cheekiness of this girl. Her zest for life is complemented by Absolut Citron
L – Lefty – Class in a glass. Lefty is the epitome of all that is Absolut 100!
U – Me – Im the party favour you cant go without! Absolut Vanilla!
T – Toni – The person everyone knows and loves. Abolute Vodka.
Flattery will get you everywhere. I’ll post to Facebook, ‘delicious Absolut drinks are on the house for whoever says the nicest things about me’! The responses will be hilarious…
The selection of the final 6 will be a process of elimination in the style of a Japanese game show ala Takeshi’s Castle. This will wheedle out the strong from the weak, the worthy from the meek, the determined from the apathetic etc. The courses I have in mind will test the candidate’s strength, flexibility, endurance, ability to withstand hyperthermia….all while being scantily clad in questionable lycra (will give them extra points if they can pull the look off tastefully). If there is a deadlock, a game of paper/scissor/rock will come into play….using ACTUAL paper, scissors and rocks.
Maybe I’d invite Oolong, but he’s monkey-picked. Russian Caravan’s away travelling a bit.
Orange Pekoe is a buddy and also two leaves but she’s a little too bitter for me.
I’ll invite friends sure to impress ya:
Hu Nan – Hei Cha,
Lao Qing Ye,
Xi Chuan – Bian Cha,
and Pu’ er
These friends from China are all well balanced, they’re delicate, tasteful and sweet.
Elder’s a delight, her accent is bright and pure Absolut vodka’s a treat.
These six friends I submit to you to be my evening’s companions chez the lovely Miss Chu.
Easy – I’ll choose the 6 new friends I made at the Secret Foodies Italian Fair last month! We have already met up again for a Sunday pub lunch, so this time I’ll invite them my way for cocktails!
I would simply choose those that have seen me at my worst and still hang around. You know you can have a good time with people like that, good food and good drink.
Find me a job networking event
Saturday afternoon, Miss Chu Bondi
With the recent decision by voluntary administrators to sell and close Becasse, my wonderful job as PA to Justin came to an end.
I’m on the hunt for my dream job with an energetic fun team in a challenging varied role.
Join me for an ABSOLUT Long Wild Iced Tea!
It will be quite simple really…. I only have 6 friends, so choosing isn’t a problem for me
. On the up side, they all do like a little tipple of ABSOLUT from time to time so it would help me keep my 6 friends just that – friends.
Two of the six friends I would take have almost completed something I’d never have the guts to do: Dry bloody July. It’s been an interesting experience going out with them in recent weeks as I happily down my liquor while I witness the pain on their faces as they timidly ask the bar tender for a soda water with lime. “You just want soda water? And lime? JUST soda water, did I hear right? Ohh…kay…Don’t drink them too fast girls!” has been the general response. They would cry tears of happiness into their ABSOLUT Wild Tea cocktails and rejoice in the alcoholic hit once more after their month long dry spell (which evidently is a month too long for the average Australian). And I gotta say, they deserve it.
Some of my best friends live in Sydney and the surrounding area.
I never get to see them because I live on the other side of the world in London.
I would not be able to make it but would love for my 6 friends currently out in Oz to meet up, reminisce and have a drink on me…
So for me the decision is already made, there would be no choosing- just drinking.
Whoever gives me the best cocktail recipe!
Easy. I’d pick my friends that know a good drink and love to share a good time!
