City2Surf Runner and Spectator Guide

Play, Sydney / 4 August 2015

Look. Let’s be honest with each other. Here at Eat Drink Play, we’re not really the running type. We run a foodie website. Our favourite type of marathon involves Netflix, several bottles of French red and a tub of Gelato Messina, and you know what? That’s ok.
But you, dear reader, you might run, or have friends and family who do. And regardless of whichever category you may fit into, there are certain logistics to be considered and they include:
1: Finding a place for the spectators to sit/eat/watch/drink
2: Sorting out the post-run feed/hydration for the mad motivated human in your life
So, we’ve catered for your needs and put together a little guide for where to head this City2Surf, August 9th.

PLAY – The Bucket List Bondi

The Bucket List Bondi is throwing its annual Rehydration Party to aid in the recovery of all race participants, avid spectators, and those who don’t even need an excuse! Located right on the finish line, this is a fun place to head to celebrate post-race. Head chef Tom Walton will be making a giant paella with fresh local prawns, young Kinkawooka mussels and calamari.  The Bucket’s signature Coconut Mojito, filled with electrolytes and tropical rum, will help re-energise and rehydrate post-race. The boys from Barney Cools (music here) will provide a relaxed coastal deep-house soundtrack for the evening.
